Coach Tim Bauer
Coach Tim has been with TWST since
1993 as the head age-group
coach, then head coach beginning in
1998. He has over eighteen years of extensive coaching
experience. Tim swam for the University of Western Illinois
and competed in the Olympic trials in 1984. He was the City of
Phoenix's Coach of the Year in 1987 and Arizona State High School
Coach of the Year in 1989. Tim coached Olympian Misty Hyman as
an age grouper at the Arizona Sports Ranch before heading to Mission
Viejo in California for three years. There he coached Olympian
Ron Karnaugh for three years. He has been a National Select
Camp Assistant coach as well as TAGS Committee Chairman. Tim
was the Gulf Age Group Coach of the Year in 1995. In the
summer of 2002, Coach Tim's National Group placed 3rd overall at the
National Club Swimming Association Junior National Meet in Boca
Raton, FL. Tim was named Coach of the Meet and later named
Coach of the Year by the National Club Swimming Coaches Assoc.
In 2003, his women's national team placed 2nd at the long course Jr.
Nationals and combined with the TWST men for an overall 2nd place
team finish. In the summer of 2004, Coach Tim's women won the
Jr. National Long Course Championship in California and again
combined for a 3rd place overall team finish. Tim was named
Coach of the Meet. A month later, the Gulf honored Tim as
Senior Coach of the Year for 2003-04.

Head Coach Scott McFarland
Coach Scott joined TWST in 2001. He's been coaching since
1975, having coached at the Arizona Sports Ranch where he worked
with Olympic Butterfly Champion Misty Hyman. Scott spent four
years coaching with the Mission Viejo Nadadores and he also has four
years of college coaching experience with a Division II
school. Scott swam and played water polo for the University of
Idaho. Coach Scott trains many of the senior swimmers, sharing
his wealth of swimming expertise.

Head Age
Group Coach Shana Trabona
Coach Shana has over twenty-two
years of coaching experience. Prior to joining TWST in 1992,
Shana had coached in Baton Rouge with the Bengal Tigers Aquatic Club
and then ATEX here in the Gulf. Coach Shana was a Jr.
Nationals Qualifier and swam for LSU. Shana was voted the 1998
TSA Age Group Coach of the Year. In 2002, Shana was named Gulf
Age Group Coach of the Year as well as Coach of the Year by the
American Swimming Coaches Assoc. for Gulf Coaches. Coach Shana
trains swimmers in the 9-15 yr old range and many of her swimmers
have achieved T16 times. Coach Shana has also coached age groupers
to Gulf, State, and Tags Records as well as National
Records.

Age Group Coach
Brad Radford
Coach Brad grew up in The Woodlands as a TWST swimmer from
1989-1997. After graduating high school, Brad attended Delta
State University in Mississippi where he swam all four years.
He was a 200 fly specialist and earned All-American honors as well
as NCAA Finalist his senior year. Brad still holds the pool
record in the 200 fly at Delta State. Upon graduation, Brad
coached at DSU for a year in the college program. He then
coached club swimming in Mississippi for another two plus years and
was in charge of the entire program. Brad married a former
TWST swimmer and just recently joined our team in the fall of 2004.
Brad works with the pre-level state swimmers aged 9-13. |
